Could you please post your kext that you used. I’d assume you’ve tried this, but since you didn’t mention it specifically — pressing the wifi button doesn’t unblock your wireless?
I had actually managed to remove, I think the HP driver, from the kernel, and that was a decent workaround.
I see Matthew Garrett already suggested you wdapter unblocking it.
